This professionally-produced DVD is available to any family practice in the province to give to patients who are experiencing symptoms of depression. Living Life to the Full is a good, first-line self-help intervention. This DVD can be an easy introduction to the topic of mental health, using engaging examples from real people. The DVD is available in English, Cantonese and Mandarin and covers the following topics:
  • Why I feel as I do
  • Problem solving
  • Building confidence and activities
  • Balanced thinking
  • Dealing with unhelpful behaviours
  • Sleeping better
  • Healthy living
  • Assertiveness

Telephone coaching for patients
who may need more help

Bounce Back community coaches provide telephone support to patients to help them complete a brief, effective mood improvement program. This program reinforces the ideas presented in the DVD and provides more thorough instruction in cognitive-behavioural approaches to depression and anxiety. Coaches tailor the focus of the program to the needs of the patient and provide three to five telephone sessions of guided self-help over a four- to eight-week period. Coaching is available in English and Cantonese. Simply complete the short Bounce Back referral form and we will be in touch with your patient within a week.
