Canadian Mental Health Association launches new program in the Interior to support emotional well-being of people with chronic conditions

Five Interior-region branches of CMHA—100 Mile House, Kamloops, Kelowna, Salmon Arm and Vernon—are the first to launch a new two-year program to help people with chronic physical conditions better cope with low mood and anxiety. The program, Bounce Back: Reclaim Your Health, will be delivered in close collaboration with primary care practices and is funded by a $6-million grant from the Ministry of Health Services, first announced during Mental Health Week last year. Clarification re: Bounce Back Program Mentioned Province newspaper

CMHA BC's executive director Bev Gutray praises the coverage of mental health issues, and in particular suicide in the Province newspaper, but also clarifies that CMHA BC's Bounce Back program which was mentioned in the article, is in fact a primary care project aimed at improving the mental health of people with chronic conditons who have mild anxiety or depression.
