Feeling low? Stressed? Anxious?

Bounce Back is a free, skill-building program for adults experiencing low mood or stress, with or without anxiety.

Here’s is a clip from the Living Life to the Full DVD for an example of the types of skills and information you'll learn through the program:

Who is Bounce Back suitable for?

Often low mood and worry problems don't qualify for a formal mental health diagnosis, but they deserve attention in their own right.

Bounce Back is specially designed for people with milder mental health troubles that get in the way of life.

Your doctor will be able to conduct a thorough assessment of your mental health needs and determine the best course of action for you.

What to expect from Bounce Back?

Bounce Back is a free, skill-building program for adults experiencing low mood or stress, with or without anxiety. The program offers two forms of help:

  • An instructional Living Life to the Full DVD with practical tips on recognizing and dealing with signs of stress, low mood and worry

  • A workbook-based program with motivational telephone coaching to teach skills for overcoming difficulties such as inactivity, unhelpful thinking, worry and avoidance.

Workbooks are chosen by you, the participant, depending on which areas and situations you would like to focus on. The coaching component can take 4 to 8 weeks.

How do I access the program?

The DVD can be obtained by anyone through their family doctor or healthcare professional

However, a doctor's referral is always required for the telephone coaching component. If you are interested in Bounce Back, please talk to your family doctor. If needed, you can use the online search at www.cpsbc.ca/physician_search to find a family physician who is accepting new patients in your area.

All Bounce Back program materials and services are free to patients. Bounce Back is offered throughout British Columbia by CMHA BC with funding from the Provincial Health Services Authority.

Multilingual Services

The DVD is available in English, Cantonese and Mandarin, and telephone coaching is available in English, French, Cantonese, and Punjabi.

The Chinese program—with a self-help DVD (in Cantonese or Mandarin) plus booklets and telephone coaching (in Cantonese)—maintains the core principles of the English program but has been adapted to be more meaningful to the Chinese community. For more information about Chinese Bounce Back, visit中文資料 or call 1-877-318-3098.
