Events

CMHA BC is involved with several major events, including:

  • Bottom Line Conference, an annual event for business leaders, policy-makers, researchers, and workers to learn, collaborate and build skills for improving mental health in Canadian workplaces

  • Mental Health Week in May, supporting local events led by CMHA branches in partnership with the national branch of CMHA

  • Beyond the Blues Depression Anxiety Screening and Education Day, held during Mental Illness Awareness Week in October on behalf of the BC Partners for Mental Health and Addictions Information, supporting over 70 local community agencies including most CMHA branches

  • Lorne Fraser Educational Fund bursary and scholarship presentations take place each fall, to help people living with mental illness further their pursuit of post-secondary education

  • Mental Health Voices, an annual award event celebrating an individual who has shown courage, raised awareness, or encouraged acceptance and help for people with mental illness

  • Women & Wellness, a dinner for women to lift their glasses and voices in support of CMHA BC programs and services featuring incredible speakers sharing their experience with mental illness

  • Ride Don't Hide - Strengthening and supporting women’s and family mental health. Ride Don't Hide is an annual community bike ride following the footsteps of Michael Schratter - an elementary school teacher living with bipolar disorder who cycled 40,000 kms across 6 continents and 33 countries in 400 days to bring awareness to mental illness.
